  • St Mary & St. John Church

The parish church of St. Mary and St. John was dedicated on October 28, 1866, it was to serve a small village community and an extensive rural area, few could have envisaged the movements of population that were to take place in the succeeding one hundred and thirty years.  The setting up of new parishes like Ballinora and Curraheen drastically reduced the area of Ballincollig parish while the development of Cork city's largest dormitory suburb transformed a small village into one of Ireland's fastest growing towns.
