THE HOLY
FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH
The Feast of the Holy Family: We are reminded today that a holy family
will be a happy one because everything is based on God's will of love ...a
love that shows itself in patience, forgiveness and sincere gratitude. The
spirit of such a family will be the Spirit of God who brings peace. |

SOLEMNITY
OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, UNIVERSAL KING
The kingship of Christ, is not to be seen in terms of any kind of
political control or domination. It is not of this world. His rule comes
from obedience to the Father and total service of people, unto death. It is
the power of God over death and evil, promised to all who commit themselves
in faith to him. |

THIRD
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Restorative Justice Week.
Some of the images in today's readings, may appear incomprehensible to many
but they give us hope. God had promised to bring about the transformation of
this fallen world, the resurrection of the dead. The timing belongs to God.
Our part is to live in hope, through the difficulties of our life and
history. |

SECOND
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Our readings today show us two widows giving generously what they could
hardly afford to give. Poverty need not lead to bitterness. It can lead to
heroic generosity and courage. Such poor as these two widows, stand as a
living condemnation of us who have so much. We give so little, as we watch
the perpetuation of Injustice and poverty in our world. |

FIRST
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Today we remember all the saints who share the happiness of heaven. We are
called to be saints by becoming children of God, by becoming more like our
Father. This is our greatest possible fulfilment. It begins already, if we
ourselves be moulded by the Beatitudes. |

THIRTIETH
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
The giving of sight in today's gospel, might also be described as the
confirmation of faith. Most of us have the faith to turn to Christ when we
are in need, but our faith often has to survive the negative voices around
us, that would make out that he is indifferent to our needs. We see him
today as the Saviour, who cares for our immediate as well as our ultimate
needs. |

NINTH
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Mission Sunday
By its nature, the Church is missionary. Christ sent her to let her light
shine to the whole human race. We cannot leave this task to the
professionals. The prophets and the apostles were ordinary lay people when
chosen to speak and act in Gods name. As the result of our baptism, each of
us has a duty to work for the missions in our own special way and in our own
particular place. |

EIGHTH
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Day of Prayer for Emigrants
He who seeks wisdom and eternal life, is reminded, that no earthly value can
be compared to them. We may agree that all gold is but a little sand before
the realities of God, but are we able to follow through this image with the
reality of our living? Are we really ready, to sell what ever we have and
give it to the poor, so as to follow Christ?. |

taken seriously. |

SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
The ways of God cannot be confined within the limits of narrow human
ideas. We must be ready to see his Spirit working in unexpected places, we

SUNDAY OF EASTER
What is truth?' asked Pilate. Many people today would rather ask, 'What is
love?' We find the answer not in ourselves but only in God. He loves us in
